- Krabi offers shopping, but not the Phuket kind—in Krabi you can pick up fresh, local produce and handicrafts, as well as antiques, silk, gems, jewellery and pewter!
- Activities like snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking, windsurfing, fishing and swimming are widely available around Krabi’s beaches
How to get there
There are a few options for getting to Krabi.
- The best international airport to fly into from Australia is the Phuket International Airport. You then choose between:
- A two hour drive in a taxi, which will cost a maximum of THB 2,700 - this options offers some spectacular countryside scenery along the way
- A ferry service from Phuket to Ao Nang/Railay (Krabi) with a journey time of 1hr and 45min. These services only run from November to April and cost THB 650. They are scheduled to run frequently
- Krabi does have its own international airport, however you will have to take a connecting flight from Bangkok or Phuket.
- Some of Australia's domestic air carriers offer Australia - Singapore - Krabi flights, and we feel this is probably the most direct way to go about things.
- If planning a longer stay in Thailand, you can take a ferry tour through Phuket - Phi Phi Islands - Ao nang. This is a very scenic and inexpensive option.
- If arriving by boat or ferry there is a free transfer into your resort
