The itinerary

• Day 1: Australia to Shanghai
  • Arrive in Shanghai International Airport, meet your tour guide and transfer to your hotel
• Day 2: Shanghai to Suzhou (B/L/D)
  • Take a morning tour of Shanghai City God Temple bazaar, a former Taoist shrine that is now a market for handicrafts. Visit a carpet factory, a traditional Chinese medicine store and enjoy a foot massage. After lunch, take a cruise on the Lingering Garden’s lake in Suzhou. Round out the day at Yuanrong Time Plaza, where you’ll see a 500 metre outdoor LED sky screen. Stay overnight in Suzhou
• Day 3: Suzhou to Nanjing (B/L/D)
  • Morning visit to a silk factory, followed by a trip to Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. See the Ming City Wall, built in the 1400s to protect Nanjing. Stay overnight in Nanjing
• Day 4: Nanjing to Wuxi (B/L/D)
  • See Dr Sun Yatsen’s Mausoleum (considered the Father of Modern China, Sun fought to end the monarchy in the early 1900s and founded the Republic of China). Visit a jade factory. Drive to the fresh-water pearl centre of Wuxi and take in a picturesque view of the Taihu Lake. Stay overnight in Wuxi
• Day 5: Wuxi to Hangzhou (B/L/D)
  • Start the day at the Wuxi Teapot Museum (this area is famed for its teapots), then head to Hangzhou to see Flower Harbor, where “flowers touch the fish and fish kiss the flowers”. Head to Long Bridge Park to take in the view. Stay overnight in Hangzhou
• Day 6: Hangzhou to Shanghai (B/L/D)
  • Take a cruise on West Lake, then relax and enjoy high-end teas at Meijiawu Tea Plantation. Return to Shanghai to see The Bund, a waterfront area that showcases many landmark buildings of western style built in the early 20th century. Stroll Nanjing Road, the main shopping street of Shanghai. Stay overnight in Shanghai

  • Touch down in Delhi’s International Airport, meet a tour representative and transfer to the 3-star Hotel Sita International
• Day 2: Taj Mahal, Sikandra and Agra Fort
  • See the iconic Taj Mahal (approx $50 entry fee, not included in package). Travel through the Sikandra area and take in the ancient walled city of Agra Fort. Spend the night in the 3-star Howard Plaza Hotel in Agra
• Day 3: Akshardham temple, Humayun Tomb and the National Museum
  • Head to the Hindu temple complex of  Akshardham, then the garden tomb of the Emperor Humayun. Spend the afternoon at the National Museum, where over 200,000 works of Indian and foreign art are housed, some dating back 5,000 years. Return to Hotel Sita International
• Day 4: Red Fort, Jama Mosque, Rajghat, India Gate and Parliament House
  • See the 17th century home of the Mughal Emperors, the Red Fort, then visit Jama Mosque, built in the 1600s. Rajghat, a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi is next, followed by the Arc de Triomphe inspired India Gate and Parliament House
• Day 5: Shopping!
  • Browse rosewood and sandalwood carvings, intricate jewellery and beautiful fabrics at Dilli Haat, a permanent market showcasing traditional handicrafts that sellers must formally apply to enter. Then wander the commercial district of Connaught Place, one of the most expensive office locations in the world. Finally, call in to Janpath market for budget curio.
• Day 6: Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar and Garden of Five Senses
  • Visit the futuristic, architectural award-winning Lotus Temple of the Baha’i faith. Built in 1986, it’s intended to be a place where people of all religions can gather together to worship God in peace. See the ancient Islamic monument of Qutub Minar – construction started on it in the year 1192. Round out the day at the Garden of Five Senses, strolling by water lilies, bamboo clusters and herb beds
• Day 7: Free day to explore the city
• Day 8: Transfer to airport
